Every relationship starts first with listening, then educating. For buyers this means avoiding a lot of potential frustration running around town through local market education: home value fluctuations in different neighborhoods, the pros and cons to different construction types, the local school system, whatever is necessary to make an educated decision. As an Accredited Buyers Representative, David has received formal training in maximizing buyer’s success.

With sellers, the Partners believe that their most important responsibility is honesty. As experts in the Barrington area, Long Grove, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Algonquin, downtown Chicago and southern Wisconsin markets, David and Shawn are adept at evaluating property values, and reading the market and what it will bear. Once a price has been settled on, the Partners set about creating a custom marketing strategy for every listing. Having been in the business for over a decade, the Partners’ marketing is based off proven strategies that reach the highest possible volume of qualified buyers.

David Slack

Before starting in real estate over a decade ago, David was a finance and accounting executive most recently with an international company that he helped take public. Today he uses his ability to assess value for his buyer and seller clients.

Always looking for ways to give his clients the best possible service, David is an Accredited Buyers Representative, Certified Real Estate Negotiator, and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource.

As a 20+ year resident of Kildeer, David enjoys working with buyers and sellers in the hometown he loves. The openness, charming neighborhoods and proximity to beautiful farms make it a very special place. When David isn’t working he enjoys traveling domestically and internationally with his wife, learning about wine, and spending time with his huge extended family and, as an avid sports fan, David supports all of Chicago’s hometown teams and attends as many games as possible.

Shawn Murphy

Before starting in real estate, Shawn worked as a customer service and office manager for his family business. Resultantly, Shawn is an adept problem solver and highly organized. Out of habit and inclination, Shawn also has an eye for quality home craftsmanship, helping clients see the finer points of construction. 

With certifications in luxury homes, condominiums, relocation, and negotiation. Shawn’s education and experience are all the tools of an elite Realtor® which has earned him a spot in the Vice Presidents Club and given him recognition as a Top Producer. Ultimately, Shawn aspires to achieve his client's goals while keeping them informed and making the process as stress-free as possible. 

In addition to selling real estate, Shawn is actively involved with the Barrington chamber of commerce, Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, and several charitable organizations.
